About the Gallery
RosettaStone Fine Art Gallery has been a long time vision and a true love affair for as long as I can remember. Being a full-time professional artist for over forty years, it has never been enough to sell and promote only my own work. Thus, when I was only twenty-six years old, I founded my first gallery. Touchstone Gallery was and is today one of the premiere cooperative galleries in the country. It was established in the heart of gallery row, right off of Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. When I moved to Florida, I founded Frenchman’s Art Gallery and Studios, which was a membership gallery that lasted for more than a decade. My first foray into a full-fledged retail gallery came when I opened RosettaStone Fine Art Gallery in 2003.
Not being interested in becoming a commodities broker, I do not deal in dead or ‘blue-chip’ artists, but instead, promote living artists who are emerging or who are considered mid-career artists. Among the multitude of artists who are creating art today, it is not always easy to find the ones who shine out as the stars of tomorrow. I scour the globe looking for artists who create great art but who are not over-saturated or selling for artificially inflated prices. Their work may or may not increase in value, but art should never be bought for that reason alone. Many have told me that RosettaStone Fine Art Gallery has the best selection of artists that they have seen anywhere. It pleases me enormously to hear these types of accolades.
I recently moved my base of operations to a larger space in Jupiter Commerce Park, slashed my staff, and went from having set hours to appointment only. I did all this in order to provide my customers with even better prices so that everyone can afford to have beautiful artwork at reasonable prices. I call this new business model ‘The Fine Art Discount Showroom.’ Unlike other discount showrooms, I do not pad out my walls with mass-produced artwork. Most buyers do not realize that mass-produced paintings from China sell for the same amount as a poster print ($15 to $50). All of the artwork here is individually produced by highly talented artists from around the world.
I hope you come in soon to discover this new form of art-buying experience. You won’t be disappointed.
